"Mashups Are Extremely Compelling," Says Father of DHTML, Scott Isaacs
AJAXWorld Conference & Expo (October 2-4 2006), Santa Clara Convention Center, CA

Digg This!

Scott Isaacs, now with Windows Live but widely known in the industry for having led the team that gave the world DHTML, without which AJAX couldn't have been invented, enraptured a full house at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo, where he gave a session this afternoon entitled "Architecting Great Internet Applications with AJAX."

"AJAX is just one pattern in the world of Rich Internet Applications and mashups," noted Isaacs, the architect behind the Windows Live Gadgets Web client framework that powers Windows Live, Hotmail, Spaces, and more.

Rather than focus on any one specific framework or approach, his rapid-fire, in-depth technical talk discussed design and architectural considerations for developing Rich Internet Applications.

Isaacs touched on a welter of issues, including how componentization, network management, security, page composition, and more impact the design and engineering of Web applications.
