With increasing pressure on IT departments and CIOs to manage business growth while controlling energy consumption, Green IT Servers announced an integrated package of products and services to ensure CIOs and IT departments meet these seemingly conflicting goals.
IT power consumption in the US has more than doubled over the last six years and now accounts for over 3 percent of energy usage, reports Green IT in a recent release, adding that over half the companies in the Fortune 500 are actively implementing revised corporate responsibility policies.
With the new server and intelligent cooling options available today, an average 20,000 square foot data center should be able to achieve energy savings in the range of 40 - 45%. These measures will not only allow the IT department to meet the growth needs of the business, but also reduce carbon emissions by around 6,900 tons per year.
Companies today are looking for alternatives that are not only cost effective, but green as well. Hardware and software vendors are making great strides in addressing these needs. With new servers focused on improving virtualization, servers focused on delivering high performance at room temperature, intelligent cooling systems for rack mounted servers to environmental control devices.
Green IT Servers is helping customers address these issues. By not only providing customers with an accurate assessment of the current energy requirements and an integrated strategy to implement virtualization; Green IT Servers will provide a detailed model for current and future expansion. By accurately forecasting the needs of the business, Green IT Servers will ensure that a move to virtualized servers, or simply installing the newest, most advanced technology, will meet the requirements without overcapacity.
