Voxel Dot Net Reports 72% Net Income Growth in 2008

63% jump in revenue from Web 2.0 and developer community

Despite tightened spending by start-ups and tougher times for businesses overall, privately-held Voxel Dot Net reports a 72% increase in net income and a 63% increase in total revenue in 2008. The company has won several client wins away from bigger rivals, expanded key client relationships and grown its client base by 32%. Since its founding in 1999, most Voxel clients are online businesses, Web 2.0 companies and developers with small to medium IT infrastructure needs.

Notable client wins include expanded business from Perez Hilton and DailyKos, as well as new deals with New York Observer, Politicker.com, CBS's "Rachel Ray Show," Mochila, and SourceForge.net. Voxel also added AmieStreet.com and AccuRadio.com. Multiple service deals dominate recent new business.

At the end of 2008, Voxel's private international IP backbone included 15 points-of-presence. Recent network and hosting expansions included the Amsterdam and Singapore markets, marking Voxel's first expansion into Asia.

President Zachary Smith notes that Universal Transfer, a pricing model launched in late 2008 that eliminates the typical premium charged for using a CDN to accelerate web content, has helped the company win more business.  Clients choose Universal Transfer so they can mix and match CDN and traditional hosting bandwidth services. Voxel offers both hosting bandwidth and CDN service over its own backbone under a single commit.
