David S. Linthicum, Chief Scientist at Blue Mountain Labs, has announced the launch of Blue Mountain Labs' cloud computing provider validation program, Blue PVP. For enterprises, Blue PVP validates a cloud computing provider's ability to meet users' needs. For cloud computing providers, Blue PVP includes a list of the features and functions that cloud computing providers need to offer within the emerging cloud computing market to meet enterprise needs. The program looks at many data points including reliability, security, scalability, elasticity, use of standards, portability, and other items specific to the cloud offering.
Blue PVP is specifically designed for cloud computing providers who offer services in the following areas:
- Database-as-a-Service
- Storage-as-a-Service
- Data-as-a-Service
- Platform-as-a-Service
- Testing-as-a-Service
