Speaker Bios: David Boloker is a distinguished engineer and chief technical officer for emerging Internet technologies in the IBM Software Group. Previously, he held the position of chief technical officer for Java Technologies in Software Group. He is recognized in and outside IBM as a technical leader in the Internet software space guiding IBM's investments as well as internal product development in the Internet space. His responsibilities include building IBM's technical e-Business strategy, working with internal IBMers to develop the appropriate products for the Internet space, researching new areas in software design, as well as guiding a group of researchers working in Software Group. David has been recognized by IBM with numerous Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards in the areas of Java, Secure Internet Gateways, Dynamic I/O Configuration and the Remote Distribution and Control of S/370, 4300, S/390 and AS/400 Architecture processors. He earned a BA and an MA in mathematics from Boston University.

Lauren Cooney joined the Information Management CTO Office at IBM in January 2007, focusing on community, strategy, and evangelism around Web 2.0, Info 2.0, and open source technologies and products. Prior to that, Lauren worked on Apache Geronimo as the IBM lead for building community and programs. Before coming to IBM in 2005, she ran dev2dev and led developer marketing at BEA Systems Inc., where she started the BEA dev2dev User Group Program and several other successful community and technical programs. Prior to her work in enterprise software, she spent several years in venture capital and entrepreneur consulting groups working with start-up companies, entrepreneurs, and investors on business plans, financial models, and investment strategies.

Lauren is active in the nonprofit community and is a founding board member of CEO Women (www.ceowomen.org).

Mark Heid is program director for WebSphere Application Server Marketing at IBM. His responsibilities include defining the worldwide business plan and offering strategy for the Application Server portfolio, as well as management of new product introductions, pricing, and channel planning.

Prior to joining IBM Software Group in 2002, Mark worked in the Personal Systems Group at IBM, managing business transformation initiatives in pricing and special bid process optimization.

Previous to IBM, Mark was a marketing manager at Hewlett Packard and Apple Computer, as well as a developer in the commercial embedded system software industry.

Mark holds a BS degree in biomedical engineering and computer science from Northwestern University and an MBA in marketing and quantitative analysis from Carnegie Mellon University.
