DETROIT, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to provide third-party logistics providers (3PLs), shippers, carriers and brokers better shipment management capabilities and enhanced communication, a new software company has been launched. Dedicated to logistics technology, Interactive Capacity Gateway, LLC designs, implements and hosts Web-based software systems for the transportation industry.
Based in Detroit, Mich., Interactive Capacity Gateway, LLC was created out of third-party logistics provider, NLM. With its industry-leading technology heritage, executives within NLM recognized a need for a software company that was dedicated to the unique technology requirements of logistics management. While the company was born from the strong technology heritage of NLM, Interactive Capacity Gateway will operate as an independent company focused solely on software solutions.
"With increasing industry demand for intuitive shipment management software solutions, it is simply the right time for Interactive Capacity Gateway to enter the marketplace," said Scott Taylor, CEO of Interactive Capacity Gateway, LLC. "It is our ongoing mission to develop products that streamline the shipping process and provide a competitive advantage to our customers."
Interactive Capacity Gateway's current offering, Capacity Gateway, is an on-demand shipment management software which enables 3PLs, shippers and brokers to create an online collaborative network to manage their customers' ground shipment activity from a Web site branded with the 3PL, shipper or broker's identity. Capacity Gateway provides online order entry; online procurement; proactive event management; order visibility and tracking; and reporting tools. Optional features of Capacity Gateway allow customers to track and rate carrier performance and manage carrier settlement.
"Interactive Capacity Gateway represents the perfect marriage of software development capabilities and logistics technology expertise," said Greg Humes, president of Interactive Capacity Gateway. "When 3PLs, shippers, carriers and brokers use our products, they can do so with the assurance that it has been created by a team of people who understand the intricacies of high-quality shipment management."
Moving forward, Interactive Capacity Gateway LLC plans to develop and adapt its product suite to manage all modes of transportation and address the needs of global shippers. A marketplace which allows carriers to bid on, update, and view multiple customer shipments on one Web site is also in development.
