“Get Your Cans to Sprint” - Sprint (NYSE: S) is collecting and distributing canned foods such as canned vegetables, soup, pasta and meat to benefit local families throughout South Carolina. All food collected at the end of the drive will be distributed to local food banks in the state.

Bring a canned food donation to any Sprint store in South Carolina to help families across the state. Everyone who brings in a canned donation will receive 20% off accessories in store. Accessories include phone cases, headphones, speakers, power packs and more. This offer excludes Galaxy Gear.
While area food banks see larger collections during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, food banks see decreases in supply as demand from families in need of food spikes during the rest of the year.
According to 2012 research by Feeding America1:
- South Carolina’s population has a food insecurity rate of 18 percent - approximately - 848,000 residents.
- Approximately 26% of children in South Carolina are living in food deficient households.
