WIND Mobile Introduces New Domestic Roaming Across North America

With new roaming network speeds, prices drop up to 95 per cent for customers in Canada and the U.S.

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/21/14 -- Today, WIND Mobile introduced a new and improved domestic roaming offering with data speeds up to 350 times faster than before, at 42Mbps, combined with lower pricing. The new rates are now 15C/minute for talk (formally 20C), 5C/message for text (formally 15C) and data is now only 5C/MB (formally $1). WIND Mobile was the first Canadian telecom to offer unlimited U.S. roaming and now has plans to launch faster HSPA+ roaming in Canada, making it one of the leading Canadian providers in low-cost roaming options across Canada and the U.S.

"Our new domestic roaming rates and roaming network speeds give our customers the freedom to use their phone while travelling anywhere across Canada and the U.S., adding increased value and coverage to our already low-priced plans," said Mirko Rugarli, chief marketing officer, WIND Mobile.

Customers who are interested in WIND Mobile are welcome to bring in their own compatible device, including the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S, for up to $500 in WIND Mobile credits. WIND Mobile also supports a wide selection of new smartphones, and with the WINDtab, customers can save up to $500 on the purchase of a new device.

"WIND Mobile is offering Canadians exactly what they've asked for," said Rugarli. "We know that almost 50 per cent of Canadians are concerned with paying roaming fees within their home country, and that doesn't include U.S. travel. That's why we're committed to giving Canadians the choice for true mobile freedom and the fourth national carrier that they deserve."

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
