Get Real: UnaPop Adselfies Allow 'Real' Consumers to Create Advertising on Social Media Without Manufactured Body Images

Kickstarter campaign connects brands & consumers through social media

ATLANTA, Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Models depicted in advertising are oftentimes altered through software applications like Photoshop to make them look even more beautiful than they are in their natural state. This "fake" imagery has become an issue for people trying to attain the "perfect" body. Looking to turn the advertising world upside down, UnaPop has launched a Kickstarter campaign to build its patent-pending technology that will enable consumers to create relevant and non-intrusive advertising direct from their "natural" selfies.

These images will be shared in social media's micro environment with family and friends. While at the same time, UnaPop Adselfies provide brands a native way to connect with current and potential customers.

The 33-day Kickstarter campaign (www.kickstarter.com; search for "UnaPop") launched Aug. 14, and seeks to raise $330,000 to build the necessary technology, which includes multiple websites for consumers and clients, as well as build apps available on iOS, Android and Windows.

"We want real people from every walk of life to promote the brands they love with real images," said Leon Stoltz, Founder & CEO of UnaPop. "The UnaPop platform will revolutionize advertising by providing consumers the ability to create their own ads that showcase their selfies with embedded brand logos. These UnaPop Adselfies tap into two things so many of us enjoy, taking selfies and receiving free or discounted goods."

The UnaPop Adselfies are simple to use:

  1. Download UnaPop's mobile app or visit its website and select a brand campaign.
  2. Discover rewards that you are eligible to receive from the advertiser and UnaPop.
  3. Submit your selfie for legal approval; the photo will be returned with an embedded logo.
  4. Post the Adselfie to all your favorite social media platforms and receive instant rewards.

"By offering tracking and real consumers, UnaPop is not too far removed from traditional advertising," said Stoltz. "We are just allowing a diverse cross-section of all consumers to create their own advertising – 'real' advertising from the heart."

Recently, REAN Cloud built a digital concierge for a North Carolina hospital that had observed that most patient call button questions were repetitive. In addition, the paper-based process used to measure patient health metrics was laborious, not in real-time and sometimes error-prone. In their session at 21st Cloud Expo, Sean Finnerty, Executive Director, Practice Lead, Health Care & Life Science at REAN Cloud, and Dr. S.P.T. Krishnan, Principal Architect at REAN Cloud, discussed how they built...
When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...

Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
