CHICAGO, Aug. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) announced today that it will integrate Clinical Architecture's comprehensive terminology management system, Symedical®, with the Allscripts dbMotion™ health information exchange platform for enhanced vocabulary management.
"We are committed to enhancing the customer experience by continually improving the performance of the Allscripts dbMotion semantic interoperability solution," said Peter McClennen, President of Allscripts Population Health Management. "By integrating Symedical with Allscripts dbMotion, we are able to provide enhanced and more efficient mapping tools, as well as improved vocabularies distribution. This can enable our clients to achieve their health information exchange and connectivity goals more quickly—which, in turn, can accelerate their efforts to improve care and outcomes."
Symedical is a complete terminology system that is currently used by Allscripts for the management and automated distribution of clinical terminologies and provider friendly search at the point of care. This expanded use will leverage Symedical's interoperability features for code set mapping, which include sophisticated matching algorithms, optimized workflow and the ability to promote consistency by using prior mapping selections to inform current decision processes.
Allscripts dbMotion integrates patient information from disparate health information technologies and delivers it to clinicians at the point of care. Harmonizing health information across the enterprise and throughout the community, the Allscripts dbMotion interoperability platform semantically organizes volumes of data, enabling providers to easily access and manage information within familiar workflows. Built on a SOA platform, Allscripts dbMotion can facilitate better care and disease management, and can help organizations succeed with new payment models.
"In order to improve outcomes, providers and the systems they rely on need to have the complete picture with regards to a patient's medical history," said Charlie Harp, Chief Executive Officer of Clinical Architecture. "Moreover, they need the picture to make sense. It has always been the goal of Clinical Architecture to assist innovative solutions, like the Allscripts dbMotion solution, in achieving this objective, accurately and efficiently. We are pleased to be expanding our partnership with Allscripts and look forward to helping them meet the needs of their Allscripts dbMotion clients."
