Coffman Racing Ready To Rally With Maxxis Tires

Professional race team, Coffman Racing, says its rally car will have an advantage with R19 Maxxis Tires.

SUWANEE, Ga., Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Professional race team, Coffman Racing, says its rally car will have an advantage with R19 MAXXIS Tires.  Coffman Racing partner, international tire manufacturer MAXXIS Tires, is well known for its competition tires that combine durability with performance.  Coffman Racing driver, Matt Coffman, has enjoyed success in his Formula Drift Rookie Season running the MAXXIS Victra MA-Z1 drift tire.  Stage rally however, is very different.  For MAXXIS USA Marketing Specialist, Ritche Tay, Coffman Racing's upcoming use of the company's rally tires comes as no surprise.  "The Victra R19 tire is designed for the demands of rally racing," he explains, "even on the toughest stages.  That's why we know it's perfect for Coffman."

The Victra R19 has already earned its stripes as a premier rally tire.  Competing in the 2WD Rally America National Championships, Team Honda Research rode the Victra R19 to more than one B-Spec class victory this season.  Tay says it's just part of the overall Maxxis USA commitment to the sport of rally.  "We're interested in building up the drivers and the sport here in the U.S.  That's why we brought the R19 into the US market, to meet the demand for rally tires in America.  People couldn't easily get competition level rally tires stateside and we are here now just to fulfill that need."

Rally drivers familiar with the Victra R19 say the rock-deflecting shoulder blocks and reinforced sidewall design maximize sidewall puncture resistance, a definite advantage on demanding and unpredictable rally courses.  Because the R19 has a composite shoulder belt design, resistance to impacts and punctures in the tread area is also improved. Tay says Maxxis is proud to partner with veteran and rookie drivers alike.  "We're supporting Coffman in Formula Drift and it just makes sense to support him in other motorsports.  He's turning it up as a rookie in FD and we expect nothing less in rally."

Jeff Mailley, Coffman Racing Team Manager, agrees that having Maxxis bring its rally tire to the American market will impact the sport overall, adding, "Obviously our primary interest is in our driver's performance.  Rally road conditions can be so different.  We think it will be a distinct advantage to use the R19 and we're looking forward to seeing what happens."

Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...
What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...

The challenges of aggregating data from consumer-oriented devices, such as wearable technologies and smart thermostats, are fairly well-understood. However, there are a new set of challenges for IoT devices that generate megabytes or gigabytes of data per second. Certainly, the infrastructure will have to change, as those volumes of data will likely overwhelm the available bandwidth for aggregating the data into a central repository. Ochandarena discusses a whole new way to think about your next...

Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds. Manual security compliance is slow, prone to human error, and represents over 50% of the cost of managing cloud applications. Determining how to automate cloud security compliance is critical...
