NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 08, 2014) - Keek Inc. (TSX VENTURE: KEK) (OTCQX: KEEKF) announced today that it has named Allison Hagendorf as its first "KJ" (Keek VJ). Hagendorf, a major television and radio personality, will be producing exclusive celebrity and entertainment content series uniquely for the Keek video platform, best known for its 36 second short video format and loved by over 68M users worldwide. Allison Hagendorf's KJ content series will include keeking peeks of cool lifestyle and entertainment moments such as breaking news, celebrity interviews, behind-the-scenes event coverage and more, beginning with Teen Choice 2014 (Keek partnered with the high profile teen awards show this year for the first ever Meet & Keek contest, a competition that gives teens a chance to meet and interview their favorite celebrities on the red carpet.)
Hagendorf is the official host of the world's most famous New Year's Eve celebration, Times Square New Year's Eve, seen by more than a billion television viewers around the globe. Hagendorf welcomes nearly one million people attending the event in Times Square. Hagendorf is joined by one of the television network hosts and other celebrities in Times Square to talk about their New Year's Eve experience, share their "Confetti Wish for the New Year," and lead the revellers in an hourly countdown as anticipation builds towards the midnight countdown and spectacular Ball Drop.
Hagendorf has also hosted the live primetime music competition show on The CW Network, "The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep." From executive producer and hiphop icon Queen Latifah and executive producer Dave Broome ("The Biggest Loser") the show goes on a nationwide search for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom. It features superstar mentors: Grammy Award-nominated musician/actor Joe Jonas, Grammy Award-winning hiphop superstar Nelly, pop legend Gloria Estefan, and country star John Rich, who literally move into the contestants lives preparing them for their LIVE performance in front of America.
Prior to her hosting television career interviewing recording artists and celebrities on camera, she worked with musicians in the studio. As an A&R executive for both Columbia and Epic Records, Hagendorf scouted unsigned talent of all genres and oversaw the production of their records. This made for the natural transition for her extensive music festival coverage as both a music journalist and television host. Her vast experience covering festivals will also lend itself a starring role in her Keek content.
In addition to her music work, Aliison is a nationally accredited health coach and voice actor. As a certified Health Coach with the American Council on Exercise, Allison's work focuses on nutrition, fitness and behavior modification, and she has been a recurring guest on The Cooking Channel. These themes will also play a part in her Keek coverage and programming.
