Cobra Electronics Announces General Availability of Company's First Ever Solar/Portable Power Series

Employing High Efficiency Solar Panels, Cobra's CPP Series Charges Mobile Devices and Tablets On-the-Go

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/04/14 -- Cobra Electronics Corporation (NASDAQ: COBR), a leading designer and marketer of award-winning outdoor and safety, mobile and consumer electronics, today announced the general availability of the Cobra Portable Power Solar Power Series. This latest addition to Cobra's mobile lifestyle product offerings consists of the company's two new portable powerpacks, the Cobra CPP 100 SP and Cobra CPP 300 SP. Both models feature convenient solar charging, as well as USB charging capabilities, giving users the freedom to quickly and conveniently charge smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices virtually anywhere.

As today's consumers become more reliant on mobile devices to conduct day-to-day activities, having a consistent and reliable power source is crucial. The Cobra CPP 300 SP features dual high efficiency solar panels so users can easily maintain a reliable power source for their mobile devices, even in the absence of a charging outlet. Its clever, lightweight and rugged design opens up to expose its two high efficiency solar panels, thus doubling its solar area for a rapid 2.1 amp charge for up to three devices at once, so everyone can stay powered up. The Cobra CPP 300 SP also features charging versatility via USB output ports and an illuminated LCD display for clear viewing of power level and charge status.

The Cobra CPP 100 SP offers an ultra-compact, lightweight design for convenient on-the-go use and is ideal for travelers, outdoor enthusiasts and business road warriors. Its powerful, high efficiency single solar panel provides 2.1 amp rapid charge for virtually all mobile devices. Users can also take advantage of its recharging versatility via USB port input, so recharging is always an option. The Cobra CPP 100 SP also features a four point LED meter to indicate power level and charge status.

Both the Cobra CPP 100 and 300 include a powerful 6,000 mAh Lithium Polymer Battery Pack to ensure that either model will hold its charge, allowing users the flexibility to charge their devices at any time.

"We've all been there -- stranded with a dead mobile device. It's a very inconvenient place to be and at times, even dangerous," said Sally Washlow, president of Cobra Electronics. "As a company focused on providing advanced mobile lifestyle convenience, the Cobra CPP 100 SP and Cobra CPP 300 SP are exciting new products for our customers to ensure they're never stranded without access to their mobile devices and digital lives."

The Cobra CPP 100 SP is available now at Amazon, NewEgg.com, Rakuten.com as well as Cobra.com for a retail price of $59.95. The Cobra CPP 300 SP is available now through Amazon, BestBuy.com, NewEgg.com, Rakuten.com and Cobra.com for $79.95.
