Plexxi Pulse – Preparing for SDDCS

Next week our own Mike Bushong heads to the Software Defined Data Center Symposium, an event organized by our friends over at Tech Field Day. The symposium will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Tuesday, April 22 from 8am to 5pm. Along with other industry influencers, Mike will be discussing OpenFlow, SDN, software-defined storage and converged infrastructure. While event attendance is limited, you can still stream the live video and see the entire agenda on this page.

In today’s #PlexxiTube video of the week, our own Dan Backman highlights the importance of uptime with mission critical applications and investigates whether having a central point of control opens up your business to undesirable failure scenarios. He also covers how Plexxi supports the notion of controller redundancy for improved availability.

Check out this week’s recap of what we’ve been up to on social media for the past week. Have a great weekend!

The best marketing efforts leverage deep technology understanding with a highly-approachable means of communicating. Plexxi's Vice President of Marketing Michael Bushong has acquired these skills having spent 12 years at Juniper Networks where he led product management, product strategy and product marketing organizations for Juniper's flagship operating system, Junos. Michael spent the last several years at Juniper leading their SDN efforts across both service provider and enterprise markets. Prior to Juniper, Michael spent time at database supplier Sybase, and ASIC design tool companies Synopsis and Magma Design Automation. Michael's undergraduate work at the University of California Berkeley in advanced fluid mechanics and heat transfer lend new meaning to the marketing phrase "This isn't rocket science."
