Bringing engineering to life in the classroom: Raytheon awards scholarships to 32 teachers nationwide

Engineering is Elementary program promotes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts

WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced the recipients of the 2013 Raytheon-Engineering is Elementary® (EiE) Teacher Scholarship Program. The 32 elementary school teachers from across the nation received awards of $2,500 each to support the implementation of EiE, an innovative engineering curriculum, in their classrooms.

Developed at the Museum of Science, Boston, EiE helps elementary school educators and their students enhance their understanding of engineering and technology concepts and support science learning through professional development workshops and curriculum resources. To date, an estimated 58,700 teachers and 4.2 million students have experienced EiE.

The 2013 Raytheon-Engineering is Elementary Teacher Scholarship recipients are:
