Watch Calgary engineers and builders unleash their inner geek as they CANstruct their favorite, can't-live-without CANtraption as part of Canstruction® Calgary 2013: Gizmos and Gadgets.

The CANtraptions take shape on March 14 at Southcentre Mall in centre court. 15 teams of local businesses and schools will be begin building at 9:00am and will have until 5:00pm to add all the final touches and finishing cans to their structures.

Canstruction® Calgary is a competition using canned food and other non-perishable items as building blocks. Teams create structures, which are judged, exhibited to the public and then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank. In its first seven years, Canstruction® Calgary has donated over $680,000 in food and funds. CANstructions will be on display at Southcentre Mall until March 21.
