PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwire) -- 03/12/13 -- Puppet Labs, the leading provider of IT automation software for system administrators, announced today that Secure-24 Inc., a leading provider of cloud computing, application outsourcing and enterprise hosting services, leverages Puppet Enterprise to help manage its customers' IT landscapes and business-critical applications.
Secure-24 was previously using Puppet open source; however as its infrastructure grew and its customers' needs changed, the company decided to move to Puppet Enterprise, Puppet Labs' commercial offering, due to the software's built-in manageability and enterprise support. Secure-24 is also able to save time with the Puppet Enterprise GUI console, which allows the company's IT team to identify resources without having to go to the end-point system.
"We were really happy with Puppet, but we had some limitations and we needed that extra support, management and out-of-the-box capabilities that came with Puppet Enterprise," said Sean Millichamp, Enterprise Architect at Secure-24. "When we moved to Puppet Enterprise, we didn't look at any other IT automation solution as we were already happy with Puppet open source, and our team was already familiar with it. There was no reason to look elsewhere."
"It is critical for cloud and hosting companies, like Secure-24, to keep up with the unique IT demands of their enterprise clients," said Luke Kanies, founder and CEO of Puppet Labs. "Puppet Enterprise allows the IT team at Secure-24 to free up time from monotonous tasks and focus on the higher demands of their enterprise customers."
