The German American | San Diego Foundation and the American Council on Germany-San Diego Chapter are presenting the event, sponsored by the German Consulate General in Los Angeles and the German Honorary Consul in San Diego as part of the Skills Initiative launched by the German Embassy in Washington, DC.

"As STEM fields remain at the center of innovation, we want to ensure that all of our students are exposed to the vast possibilities that exist in STEM, and they know that they can all be innovators," said David Sciarretta, principal at AEA Charter Middle School.

"We have the only German immersion program in San Diego County, and we believe that connecting our students to the leaders of German businesses in San Diego from an early age is a valuable extension of the curriculum," said Jeannette Vaughn, principal at AEA Charter Elementary School.

German Ambassador Peter Ammon: "Skills Initiative is a win-win idea. Everyone benefits. German-American cooperation in workforce skills development will provide opportunities in local communities across the USA for good jobs, quality training and businesses that succeed in the US and global markets."
