AIEA, HI and PETALUMA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/07/13 -- Crazy Shirts, the storied maker of Hawaiian clothing, and MarketLive, the leading provider of eCommerce technology for high-growth merchants, have teamed up to re-design and re-launch Crazy Shirts' retail website. The new site is optimized specifically for modern shopping from tablets and smartphones, while the design channels Crazy Shirts' original Hawaiian 'vibe' and brand story to improve visitor conversion and total sales.
The re-launched retail website includes integrated social and content merchandising features including BazaarVoice ratings, videos, Facebook Like, MarketLive Intelligent Imaging, and formatting optimization for visitors viewing from tablets and smartphones -- all delivered via MarketLive's robust eCommerce technology platform.
In addition, MarketLive's commerce experts worked with Crazy Shirts' website team to revive nostalgic images from Crazy Shirts' 1960s Hawaiian roots, and to develop a narrative that evokes the beach-and-surf lifestyle. Product inventory was re-photographed on live models in outdoor settings, and brand elements were implemented consistently across all of Crazy Shirts marketing and sales channels. The net result is an online retail experience that approximates the in-store experience, and increases online sales.
"Our challenge was to create an experience that is as much fun for online customers as when they're on vacation and they drop into one of our physical stores. The idea was to let our unique Crazy Shirts style come through the screen and into their homes," said Patrick Stewart, vice president of marketing for Crazy Shirts. "In developing the new web store, Crazy Shirts created an amazing visual experience, full of beautiful island-lifestyle photos and vivid images of our legendary artwork."
The new website was designed to be intuitive to navigate and fun to explore. In addition to product displays for men, women and children, the new website includes videos, user reviews, a visual story of Crazy Shirts' history, a store-finder that includes satellite maps to their locations, and a behind-the-scenes story of Crazy Shirts' unique specialty dyes.
"What made this re-launch project special for us was the chance to mix the latest eCommerce technology and analytics with a great brand story," said Mark Pierce, CEO of MarketLive. "We had a chance to dig deep into Crazy Shirts' celebrated history and bring that to life in pixels. We let the brand story guide the site re-design in ways that are both authentic to the brand and optimized for visitor conversion and sales through-put."
