LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 03/07/13 -- Drs. W. Tracy Hankins and Samuel M. Sohn, each a board-certified Las Vegas plastic surgeon, offer a variety of facial rejuvenation procedures at Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery, their private practice. In addition to traditional face lift, neck lift, and browlift procedures, Drs. Hankins and Sohn have adopted Ultherapy® in order to provide patients with a non-surgical option for skin tightening.
Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery recently acquired Ultherapy® technology at their office and the practice's medical aestheticians have completed their training to safely perform the procedure. Drs. Hankins and Sohn anticipate that Ultherapy® will become one of the most popular non-surgical treatments among their patients. They say the treatment is well-suited for a particular niche of people who want to tighten their skin without undergoing a facelift or mini facelift operation.
Ultherapy® is currently FDA-approved for use on the face to lift the neck, chin and brow. Clinical trials are underway to determine the treatment's true effectiveness on other parts of the body, and Dr. Sohn says he is excited about the prospects of improved tightening on the body -- including the arms, décolletage, knees, chest, abdomen, and buttocks -- using Ultherapy®.
According to Drs. Hankins and Sohn, it is important for prospective Ultherapy® patients to have a professional evaluation in order to determine candidacy. It is also beneficial to be informed of the spectrum of different techniques and approaches available to achieve an individual's cosmetic goals, adds Dr. Sohn. He says a board-certified plastic surgeon has the appropriate training and depth of background to provide patients with the most up to date information.
The Las Vegas plastic surgeons say with Ultherapy®, there is typically no downtime and patients can often resume their normal activities immediately. The patient's skin may be flushed immediately afterward, but according to Dr. Sohn, this flushing should resolve itself over the course of a day. Drs. Hankins and Sohn also note that there may be some slight swelling for a few days, and tingling or tenderness to the touch for up to a few weeks after the procedure.
The results of Ultherapy® are often noticeable 2 to 3 months from the initial therapy. In the end, Drs. Hankins and Sohn tell their Las Vegas plastic surgery patients that their final results may take up to six months to become fully realized.
