QuickPlay Media, the leading provider of cloud-based managed service solutions for the distribution of premium media to IP-connected devices, today launched TVXSM*, a TV everywhere express solution, giving content and service providers the ability to quickly, easily and cost-effectively introduce multiscreen services, with both VoD and live TV content to their customers. As an “off the shelf” solution, TVX enables content and service providers to roll-out a branded and configurable multiscreen offering in as little as 90 days, at a fraction of the cost of building it in house.
TVX is the first express-style multiscreen deployment option to handle all aspects of a service from end-to-end, including ingestion and content management to play-out and reporting. By delivering more services faster, it contains costs, increases revenue potential and returns higher margins.
“As the multiscreen market matures, content and service providers are looking to enter the market quickly, with well-defined offerings. However, the complex and costly nature of building solutions from scratch isn’t an option for many of them,” said Wayne Purboo, CEO of QuickPlay. “With TVX, we enable service providers to get engaging multiscreen experiences into market quickly, with significantly less investment than a “do it yourself” development project.”
In addition to the robust managed service infrastructure of the OpenVideo™ platform, features of TVX include: a configurable, brandable client application, support for adaptive streaming, content fully protected with PlayReady, user entitlements, dynamic advertising, banner ad support, multi-language support, featured content and support for multiple devices including those running Android, iOS, BB10 and Windows 8, as well as browser support.
TVX will be generally available on March 15, 2013. To learn more, please visit: http://www.quickplay.com/product/tvx.
*TVX is a service mark of QuickPlay Media Inc.
