- The Drowning: a console-quality first-person-shooter experience custom built for mobile devices, featuring intense action, high-definition graphics, a unique storyline, and an intuitive control scheme that breaks away from clunky virtual joysticks. - TRANSFORMERS: LEGENDS: the game sets players on a war-torn Earth where they build a team of AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS to travel through two adventurous storylines, and battle against one another in intense player-versus-player combat. Live on now on Google Play, this action card-battle game based on the TRANSFORMERS franchise will be releasing soon for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Panels Featuring DeNA Speakers
Saturday, March 9 from 5–6 pm
Indy Gaming: Why Publishers Must Evolve or Die, location: Palmer Events Center, room 4-5, #indygame (http://schedule.sxsw.com/2013/events/event_IAP5956):
Indy games are competing directly and successfully with mainstream games for audience and dollars, which is putting tremendous pressure on the incumbent publishers to evolve or die. This session examines the rise of the new independent game paradigm and focuses on the central business problem: what is the nature of publishing in a highly-distributed, low-friction online gaming world? DeNA’s free-to-play visionary and industry veteran Ben Cousins is a featured speaker on this panel.
Sunday, March 10 from 3:30–4:30 pm
- Taking Social Games from Pink to Blue, location: Palmer Events Center, room 4-5, #PinktoBlue (http://schedule.sxsw.com/2013/events/event_IAP5646):
Social games have historically been geared towards the female player, but a new era of social games is expanding from "pink" games to also include "blue" games. This session features DeNA’s VP of Marketing & Revenue Doug Scott, in addition to speakers from social game makers from KIXEYE and Zynga discussing what it takes to make a social game that is appealing for the traditionally core male console player.
Exclusive updates and photos from SXSW Interactive will be posted on DeNA’s games Twitter (@Mobage) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/mobage) throughout the duration of the festival. SXSW Interactive prize packs will also be given out each day of the show via @Mobage and Mobage’s Facebook page for those consumers that are unable to attend SXSW. To keep updated on DeNA panel sessions during SXSW, please follow the company’s corporate Twitter account (@DeNACorp).
