"We are excited to be offering this mobile traffic technology IP package to our global base of buyers. This navigation solution will aid drivers in getting where they need to go – for business or leisure – and saving time and money by identifying the most efficient route," says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.
Key Characteristics & Benefits
This portfolio includes a mobile system for reporting and monitoring vehicular traffic. The system uses vehicles as both a traffic status probe and as part of a mesh communications network. A vehicle equipped with this system has a position determining device, a transceiver, and a local display and controller connected to a processor. The transceiver receives, transmits, and repeats local traffic and vehicle information – location, direction, and speed – with other vehicles also having a transceiver. The processor determines local traffic conditions based on the received data. Systems based on this IP would allow real-time warnings regarding traffic irregularities such as accidents and closed roads. This lot is relevant to companies involved with mobile traffic systems, driverless vehicle technology, and collision avoidance systems.
See this technical description of the navigation technology IP sales offering.
