Telerik, provider of software development, lifecycle and content management tools and solutions, together with Communisis, a leading customer communications partner, today announced Tata Global Beverages (TGB), parent company to the Tetley brand, has experienced marked success since shifting to Sitefinity CMS. Telerik, Communisis and TGB will present their success story at the Technology for Marketing & Advertising (TFM&A) event on February 26 in Earls Court, England.
Faced with mounting costs and user dissatisfaction, Tata Global Beverages needed a flexible, easy-to-use content platform that could also deliver project savings. The company needed 17 sites, localized in multiple languages to showcase its popular Tetley brand.
After initially working to adapt Microsoft SharePoint, the company quickly realized it needed a content management system (CMS) that was cost-effective, flexible and easy-to-use. Communisis introduced Sitefinity CMS as part of its work developing the site for Tetley, on behalf of the company’s digital agency.
“SharePoint was very complex and its difficulties resulted in lack of internal adoption, causing many frustrations,” said Gwilym Lewis, Digital Director, Communisis. “We introduced Sitefinity CMS by Telerik because not only is it easy-to-use, but we knew it could meet and beat TGB’s requirements at an affordable price point. Our support and Sitefinity’s capabilities were a perfect pairing for this project.”
Through its work with Communisis, Tata Global Beverages selected the Sitefinity CMS by Telerik. The platform naturally supports high developer productivity and its infrastructure requirements are modest compared to other CMS offerings. Moreover, Sitefinity is user-friendly, making it an inviting work environment for non-technical content authors.
“We were very impressed with Sitefinity and how quickly we were able to get our sites up and running. Further, it is so intuitive, making it easy to work with and update,” said Nik Purnell, Collaborations Programme Manager, Tata Global Beverages. “We have standardized our entire web presence on Sitefinity – the Tetley brand as well as our corporate site.”
Since implementation, Tata Global Beverages launched 17 branded sites in 20 languages. Additionally, Tata Global Beverages’ own corporate site was migrated to Sitefinity. The entire project was completed in just six months with a savings of more than £250,000—hosting costs alone went from £67,000 to £10,000 annually.
“When determining your web strategy, it is very important to evaluate all options before implementation, to ensure you have the right systems in place,” said Martin Kirov, Executive Vice President, Sitefinity by Telerik. “Tata Global Beverages quickly realized that there were products better suited for public-facing web initiatives like theirs, and leveraged Sitefinity’s proven CMS technology for its Tetley brand. The results, thus far have been positive for all involved.”
