SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/20/13 -- MapR Technologies, Inc., the technology leader for Hadoop, today announced that CEO John Schroeder will present a keynote titled: "Hadoop: Big Results" at the upcoming O'Reilly Strata Conference: Making Data Work, taking place on February 26 - 28, 2013, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, in Santa Clara, CA. Additionally, the company will be showcasing its award-winning MapR Distribution. The conference also features sessions by key MapR executives.

John Schroeder's keynote presentation, "Hadoop: Big Results," will provide insights into how the combination of scale, efficiency and analytic flexibility creates the power to expand the applications for Hadoop to transform companies as well as entire industries.

Chief Application Architect, Ted Dunning, will present a session titled, "Expect more from Hadoop." As enterprises deploy Hadoop, they are faced with too many data sources and not enough integration to deal with the variety of their critical data. This session will discuss how leading companies have integrated Hadoop, NoSQL (HBase) and enterprise sources on one platform.

Founding Member and Committer on Apache Drill project and MapR Director of Product Management, Tomer Shiran, will present a session titled, "Introduction to Apache Drill." The Apache Drill project is gaining tremendous interest in the industry. Apache Drill is a large-scale interactive query system to analyze large datasets with an inexpensive and flexible solution. Drill is another big data system that, like Hadoop, was inspired by a Google white paper. This session will provide an overview of Apache Drill and details on its architecture and roadmap.
