LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 02/08/13 -- Audioboo, a leading social platform for recording, sharing and listening to audio, had exclusive access to two major events during December and January - The British Comedy Awards 2012 and Sundance Film Festival 2013 - allowing its in-house reporters to capture a wide range of exclusive interviews.
Audioboo was given full behind-the-scenes access to The British Comedy Awards, giving Audioboo reporters the chance to record audio interviews and instantly share them on its dedicated event channel. Some of the juiciest celebrity news and gossip regarding stars' future plans and thoughts on the awards were captured.
Among the celebrities to be interviewed was Jack Whitehall, crowned King of Comedy by the public on the evening, who disclosed he would be celebrating with his mum. Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer were also on hand to talk about a new film they're planning, and Charlie Brooker, who won Best Comedy Entertainment Personality, revealed to Audioboo how he had to ration Twitter because it was driving him mad.
Sundance Film Festival, held in Utah between 17 and 27 January, delivered the very best in pioneering independent films, documentaries and music from the around the world, and several Audioboo reporters attended. Interview highlights on Audioboo include Twilight author Stephenie Meyer on producing her first film, Austenland, Ugly Betty's Michael Urie talking about his directorial debut and Nadia Szold discussing her New York Noir film, Joy de V, which explores the inner workings of an Italian-American conman.
Rob Proctor, Audioboo's CEO, said: "The British Comedy Awards and Sundance Film Festival were fantastic opportunities for Audioboo to provide exclusive content to listeners and media round the world. Our reporters captured some hilarious interviews and meaty comedy gossip in London in December and more serious insights on the silver screen just a couple of weeks ago, all of which can be shared, or published on websites, by anyone.
"We'll be live at other events in the future, but in the meantime, people can listen to a wide variety of boos, follow brands, media, charities and celebrities and record their own audio updates to share."
The interview boos can be listened to from a desktop, smartphone or tablet and all Audioboo content is embeddable, meaning bloggers and media outlets can use it within their own stories. As a podcasting platform for the next generation, Audioboo is being used by local, national and global media outlets such as CNBC, Absolute Radio, BBC and The Guardian as an audio capture tool with which to share content to international audiences.
