Pivot3 Partners With Avnet in EMEA To Distribute vSTAC™ VDI Products

Pivot3, a leading provider of converged storage and compute appliances, today announced a distribution partnership agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions (Avnet), an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), to distribute the Pivot3 vSTAC™ VDI products to its partner network across EMEA countries. The Pivot3 vSTAC VDI appliance family makes VMware View deployments simple, affordable and channel consumable for the 100 to 2,500 desktop target market. Pivot3 vSTAC™ VDI appliances unify storage and servers eliminating the need for any specialized IT expertise required to configure and integrate separate SAN storage, servers and software into a VDI solution.

“The addition of the Pivot3 vSTAC products to our portfolio of VDI solutions now enables us to offer a complete out-of-box VMware View VDI solution to countries such as France, Germany, the UK, Nordics, as well as the fast growing Eastern European countries,” said Ed Bateman, director of software, Wireless and Mobility Business Group EMEA at Avnet. “Partnering with Pivot3 gives our strong network of VMware resellers a proven solution that delivers simple, scalable and cost-effective VDI for their clients’ View deployments.”

“Pivot3 provides a packaged VMware View solution which simplifies and eliminates the complexities and costs generally associated with deploying a VDI environment,” said Mike Holt, director of channels and strategic alliances at Pivot3. “Together with Avnet’s strong VMware reseller network, we look forward to providing these new regions with a compelling VDI proposition that is quick and simple to deploy and also minimizes a customer's upfront capital investment needs.”

In support of the partnership, Pivot3 has a VDI Channel Ready program consisting of many unique elements designed to maximize lead opportunity and qualification for Avnet resellers and solution providers in EMEA. There are unique online tools for VDI self-configuration and ROI analysis. Additionally, prospects can “Test Drive” a live, hosted 300 to 400 desktop scenario complete with workload simulation, login storms, scale-out of desktops and performance reporting. The Channel Ready program is also designed to enhance sell-through with all VMware and Microsoft license revenues flowing to the resellers. In addition, deal registration is available to partners.

Product Availability and Pricing

The Pivot3 vSTAC VDI is available now and has already garnered the interest of several leading enterprises across various industries, including healthcare, education, government and financial services. List pricing starts at $29,999.

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...

Architecture is the key that underpins and ties all these efforts together. In the digital age, it’s important to invest in architecture, extend the enterprise footprint to the cl...
What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. The quest for better, faster Internet routing has been around for a decade, but nobody solved this problem. We’ve seen band-aid approaches like CDNs that attack a niche's slice of static content part of the Internet, but that’s it. It does not address the dynamic services-based Internet of today. It does...
