Nimble Storage Exceeds $100 Million Run Rate

Company Validates Hybrid Storage Success by Surpassing Sales, Customer, Product and Growth Milestones

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/07/13 -- Nimble Storage, the leading provider of flash-optimized hybrid storage solutions, today announced that the company surpassed a $100 million run rate in bookings in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year ending January 31, 2013, after just two-and-a-half years of commercially shipping its products. In addition to achieving annual sales growth of over 400 percent, Nimble has quadrupled its number of customers, surpassing the 1,100 mark, and has shipped more than 2,000 systems to date. The company also has significantly increased its global reach by expanding its presence in Europe and entering the Asia Pacific region with a presence in Australia and Singapore. Global employee headcount is now over 340, with substantial investments made in sales, engineering and operations personnel.

Product Innovations

Nimble Storage has changed the game in the data storage industry by developing an integrated flash-optimized storage architecture designed expressly to leverage the best of flash performance and the price/capacity of high-capacity hard disk drives. Nimble Storage's scale-to-fit technology, built on the groundbreaking Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) architecture, provides customers optimal efficiency for managing their storage performance, capacity and scalability.

Financial

On Sept. 10, 2012, Nimble Storage received $40.7 million in an over-subscribed mezzanine funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners. Existing Nimble investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Artis Capital Management also participated in the round, and Nimble welcomed GGV Capital as an investor. Nimble Storage will use the funding across its operations, with major emphasis on propelling growth in sales, engineering and international market development. To date, Nimble Storage has raised $98 million.
