AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security to 143 million active users, today announced a new agreement with one of the world’s most popular software download portals, Soft32.
Soft32 hosts more than 100,000 apps suitable for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms, delivering over 10 million downloads to its community of users every month. Under the terms of this agreement, Soft32 will now include AVG Secure Search as part of selected software packages available to download from its servers.
John Giamatteo, COO of AVG Technologies, commented: “AVG is focused on helping people enjoy greater freedom and peace of mind when they’re browsing the Internet. By working with Soft32 and including AVG Secure Search with app downloads, this new relationship will make it even easier for thousands of consumers to benefit added security and protection from threats and unwanted intrusions into their online experience and privacy.”
AVG Secure Search works across Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and alerts users to potentially dangerous webpages before they visit them, helping to protect their personal information and devices from threats. The browser add-on also integrates AVG’s pioneering Do Not Track technology, which lets users take control of their privacy by restricting how websites track their surfing through cookies and other automated software.
“Like Soft32, AVG is a disruptive leader in its field and this agreement represents a fantastic opportunity for us to deliver added security and online safety to our user community,” said Lucian Todea, CEO and Founder of Soft32. “It’s great to be working with a global recognized partner that offers long-term stability and is committed to mutual success. We look forward to developing innovative new software solutions with AVG that benefit our users and help Soft32 to continue to grow.”
