SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/31/13 -- Larkin Street Youth Services and Title Sponsor PwC US will host the annual Corporate Leadership Breakfast on February 5, 2013, at the City Club, attended by members of San Francisco's business community. This year's guest speaker, Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz, president, Charles Schwab Foundation and senior vice president, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., will be sharing her personal and professional journey toward building a mission for Schwab's strategic philanthropy.
"Passion is the greatest driver of high-impact philanthropy," said Schwab-Pomerantz. "For business leaders who want to make a positive impact in their communities, focusing on a social issue they care deeply about and that aligns with the business makes all the difference."
"PwC, with Larkin Street Youth Services, is proud to host this unique event, which provides the San Francisco business community with a platform to encourage and inspire one another to better serve the needs of our city," said Jim Henry, Managing Partner of PwC San Francisco. "As a firm, PwC is focused on giving back to the communities where our people live and work and helping develop the next generations of leaders. We're pleased to collaborate with local businesses in a common goal to provide a brighter future for the youth of San Francisco."
Larkin Street has served over 70,000 youth since first opening in 1984. The Corporate Leadership Breakfast raises funds and awareness to help support Larkin Street's 25 programs housed in 15 sites in San Francisco. Larkin Street serves about two-thirds of San Francisco's homeless youth and is the primary provider of housing for transitional age youth in San Francisco. For every young person who exits street life, society saves more than five times the cost of long-term intervention.
