BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Jan. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury appliance maker Jenn-Air has partnered with ELLE DECOR, House Beautiful and VERANDA for the sixth annual Designer Visions. Showcasing the best in interior design talent and trends, this year's Designer Visions has transformed residences in an historic Manhattan building into three elegant, contemporary homes, each reflecting the distinctive style of the participating magazines and top designers.
The homes – part of a 106-unit luxury condominium conversion now underway at 250 West Street – will be featured editorially in the magazines, profiled on their web sites, and used as special event venues in the next few months as part of the Designer Visions showcase. The homes also served as movie sets for six short films produced in association with 48 Hour Film Project, an organization that works to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. The film projects, including three that integrate Jenn-Air® appliances into their story lines, required filmmakers to complete the entire process, from writing and filming to editing and scoring, within a 48-hour period.
Designers participating in the Designer Visions showcase include Matthew Patrick Smyth for ELLE DECOR, David Rockwell for House Beautiful and Antony Todd for VERANDA.
Smyth's ELLE DECOR kitchen, described by the magazine as a "modern-day Grand Tour-in residence," features the seamless look of a paneled, built-in refrigerator and a perimetric ventilation hood designed to hang on the wall like a piece of sleek, modern art. Designed for a serious cook, it includes the Jenn-Air® Pro-Style® wall oven and a five-burner, high performance gas cooktop.
Rockwell's House Beautiful kitchen, characterized as a "bohemian-chic aerie," was designed with entertaining in mind. It features cabinetry with no visible hardware and a sleek, induction cooktop paired with a sculptural ventilation hood. The double wall oven incorporates full color, touch-screen technology with an industry-exclusive Culinary Center that provides suggested settings for achieving the best possible cooking results.
"Casual elegance" is the guiding vision behind Todd's VERANDA kitchen, which features an open floor plan and stunning Hudson River views. Appliances include an integrated, paneled refrigerator, a sophisticated Euro-Style double wall oven and an unobtrusive ductless downdraft ventilation system that cleans the air without the need for ductwork.
"Each of the kitchens showcases a different selection of appliances and a very distinctive look," notes Brian Maynard, Director of Brand Marketing for Jenn-Air. "Together they reflect the breadth of our luxury appliance collection, with each offering specific ideas and inspiration for pairing various appliances with different kitchen designs and lifestyles."
"Beyond high style, the appliances offer the high level of performance and precision that one would expect in a luxury residence built for entertaining," he adds.
Designer Visions will open with a VIP gala celebration on January 29. A virtual tour and behind-the-scenes video, as well as feature interviews with the editors and designers will be available online at elledecor.com, housebeautiful.com and veranda.com. Video highlights of the kitchens will be featured on jennair.com.
Since the introduction of the first self-ventilated cooktop in 1961 and downdraft ventilated range in 1965, Jenn-Air brand has consistently grown its reputation as a technology and design innovator. Its selection of style options includes two distinct stainless steel collections and a cutting-edge Floating Glass finish in black or white. From downdraft cooktops, wall ovens and professional style ranges to dishwashers, refrigerators and such entertaining essentials as warming drawers, built-in ice machines and wine cellars, Jenn-Air brand offers a complete line of major kitchen appliances. The Domain Name Service (DNS) is one of the most important components in networking infrastructure, enabling users and services to access applications by translating URLs (names) into IP addresses (numbers). Because every icon and URL and all embedded content on a website requires a DNS lookup loading complex sites necessitates hundreds of DNS queries. In addition, as more internet-enabled ‘Things' get connected, people will rely on DNS to name and find their fridges, toasters and toilets. According to a recent IDG Research Services Survey this rate of traffic will only grow. What's driving t...
