Today at the NRF (National Retail Federation) 102nd Annual Convention & EXPO, Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Service (POS) solutions, and RewardLoop, a Vancouver-based company focused on cloud hosted, transaction-based mobile rewards programs, announced the availability of the RewardLoop mobile loyalty and rewards platform on Epson’s OmniLink™ smart POS solutions family. OmniLink combines an Epson industry-leading POS printer with PC functionality to deliver cloud-based services, open platform mobility and flexible web-based printing from any mobile device. Paired with Epson’s OmniLink, RewardLoop delivers a universal, plug-and-play mobile loyalty and rewards solution on virtually any existing POS system or cash register with no need for upgrades to existing software.
Epson’s OmniLink solutions provide the data gateway that enables delivery of cloud-based services via Ethernet or WiFi connectivity. Since the RewardLoop application resides on the OmniLink printer outside the POS system, retailers gain the benefits of rapid deployment. RewardLoop digitizes loyalty points by rewarding customers based on purchases by credit, debit or cash, and eliminates the need for traditional loyalty cards. Customers use smartphones to scan QR codes printed on receipts to earn merchant-defined rewards anytime, anywhere, eliminating the need to carry multiple, traditional loyalty cards. With RewardLoop’s cloud-based data platform, retailers get access to real-time transactional data crucial for establishing deep and rich customer relationships and personalization. RewardLoop is NFC ready, and poised to take advantage of this technology as it becomes more prevalent in consumer markets.
“Retailers are looking for innovative ways to connect with shoppers via mobile devices,” commented Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division. “With RewardLoop, retailers can start using smartphone-based loyalty and rewards quickly and easily today – and evolve their solution when they’re ready to move to NFC-based programs of the future.”
“With Epson’s OmniLink solutions, we can offer our platform seamlessly, easily and cost-effectively,” commented Jeff LaPorte, CEO at RewardLoop. “With this solution, retailers can cost effectively transition to a digital loyalty program and also gain needed real time insight into their customer base that will help them grow their business. Our goal is to bring retailers closer to customers through technology.”
Availability
The RewardLoop solution with OmniLink will be available in the first quarter of 2013 through RewardLoop’s designated partners. To watch Epson’s NRF 2013 video, please click here. For more information about the Epson OmniLink, please visit pos.epson.com/OmniLink.
About RewardLoop
RewardLoop is a mobile loyalty platform and network that rewards customers based on merchants’ real-time transaction data. The company utilizes POS data to map the relationships between transactions and customers, enabling brick and mortar retailers to personalize offers with the precision and relevance of online retailers. RewardLoop accesses Line Item Data on every transaction (loyalty and non-loyalty), and resolves the mass fragmentation of the POS landscape. RewardLoop is compatible with 85% of POS systems and virtually all cash registers in circulation today. The newly announced RewardLoop Analytics platform helps merchants extract new forms of value from their existing POS systems by pumping a carbon copy of every transaction into the cloud where RewardLoop and its partners, provide analytics and business intelligence services on top of existing Point-of-Sale infrastructure to innovative organizations in retail and hospitality. RewardLoop is based in Vancouver, Canada and is backed by Madrona Venture Group.
