Today at the NRF (National Retail Federation) 102nd Annual Convention & EXPO, Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Service (POS) solutions, and SmartReceipt, Inc. a marketing solutions company focused on transforming POS receipts, announced the availability of its SmartReceipt offering on Epson’s OmniLink™ smart solutions family. OmniLink combines an Epson industry-leading POS printer with PC functionality to deliver cloud-based services, open platform mobility and flexible web-based printing from any mobile device. Paired with Epson’s OmniLink, SmartReceipt allows retailers to transform ordinary receipts into targeted, revenue generating marketing medium by increasing frequency and influencing buying behavior. With plug and play compatibility to virtually any existing POS system or electronic cash register, the SmartReceipt solution with OmniLink allows retailers to gain access to a number of dynamic receipt functionalities without any upgrades to existing software.
Epson’s OmniLink solutions provide the data gateway that enables delivery of cloud-based services via Ethernet or WiFi connectivity. Since the SmartReceipt application resides on the OmniLink printer outside the POS system, retailers gain the benefits of rapid deployment with no need to install additional applications. SmartReceipt provides retailers with real-time, behavior-driven marketing that allows for unprecedented in-store point-of-purchase decision-making, proven to generate revenue and influence customer behavior. SmartReceipt’s technology platform includes targeted marketing, location-based advertising, nutrition education, employee messaging capability and consumer purchasing analytics.
“We saw immediate effects,” commented Bob Grewal, development agent at Subway, a current SmartReceipt customer. “In as little as a week, people were bringing back the coupons and repeat customers started coming in at a faster rate. It’s been a big help for us to see an increase in business right away and sales are up overall.”
“Today’s retailers are using receipts to engage customers like never before,” commented Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division. “The SmartReceipt platform brings added value to receipts, while increasing the retailer’s bottom line.”
“SmartReceipt is already being used by many large QSRs and retailers,” commented Jon Cassell, Vice President of Business Development for SmartReceipt. “With the added advantage of Epson’s OmniLink, we can quickly and easily bring the solution to clients in other markets, including restaurant and specialty retail, using legacy POS systems and ECRs that are currently unable to support software-based solutions.”
Availability
The SmartReceipt solution with OmniLink will be available in the first quarter of 2013 through SmartReceipt designated partners. SmartReceipt is also excited to announce a new focus on expanding their business partner reseller network. Coming on the heels of the recent partnership announcement by Wireless Ronin and the signing of Trinity Resources US to market SmartReceipt solutions, the company has embarked on an aggressive campaign to recruit a limited number of high quality value added resellers across North America.
