AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Realty Austin and Foundation Communities announce final results of their match fund partnership. Together they celebrate a record-breaking $813,878 total funds pledged at the local nonprofit's annual fundraiser.
Earlier this year, Realty Austin and its team of agents rolled out their plan for a new match fund initiative in collaboration with Foundation Communities. Co-owners Jonathan and Yvette Boatwright generously matched $30,000 in contributions by their kindhearted team of real estate agents and staff for a total of $60,000.
This match fund, in turn, served as inspiration for the nearly 700 guests at Foundation Communities' annual fundraiser to become Home Builders, multi-year donors at any level who enable the organization to grow in planned, strategic ways over time. The results gained the Austin nonprofit a historic 60% increase in total donations and a 178% increase in new Home Builders.
Yvette Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, "Foundation Communities is a true hero in Austin. The organization continues to make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. Our team is proud to be working hand-in-hand with Foundation Communities on a solution for our city."
Foundation Communities brings awareness and solutions to the crisis of affordable housing in Austin. Since opening their doors nearly 25 years ago, the local nonprofit has helped over 2,600 families and individuals - including 228 formerly homeless children - find a home and a better quality of life.
Walter Moreau, Executive Director of Foundation Communities said, "Jonathan and Yvette have been supporters of Foundation Communities for a long time now. They came to us and said they wanted to do more to help us meet the growing need for affordable housing in Austin. We were thrilled to partner with their booming local business for our one fundraising event of the year, and it was a huge success. Realty Austin helped us inspire more people than ever to give. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and generosity."
Realty Austin is no stranger to innovation and applying new strategies to mainstream methods. Its reputation as an early adopter to thinking outside of the box is well known in the residential housing market and local technology landscape. The firm plans to continue its philanthropic initiatives in 2013 and beyond.
Jonathan Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, "Helping Walter and Foundation Communities remains a top priority for our team. It is a core organization of our community and we are proud to roll up our sleeves to help them succeed. As a Home Builder for the past five years, Yvette and I have been passionate about their mission, and believe its vision is long-lasting into the future of Austin."
