MOSCOW -- (Marketwire) -- 01/10/13 -- Nival, the pioneering gaming company that is bringing "mid-core" gaming to the masses, today announced their hit game King's Bounty: Legions will launch on Android tablets, Mac OS and Kindle Fire. The announcement is sure to thrill the "legions" (pun intended) of King's Bounty: Legions fans across the globe who have been enjoying the game on Facebook and iOS and have propelled it to the #1 role-playing game (RPG) in more than 17 countries.
King's Bounty: Legions is a true cross-platform strategy game, available on both social networks and mobile devices. The game pits a host of units controlled by the player against an enemy team via a turn-based approach. With an emphasis on strategy, King's Bounty: Legions plays like a gorgeous, 3D-rendered chess game that evolves as you play. The addition of new platforms allows gamers to take King's Bounty: Legions wherever they go, sharing their character and game sessions across multiple devices while progressing through the game's engaging narrative via Player vs. Environment (PVE) and Player vs. Player (PVP) gameplay.
"With the launch of King's Bounty: Legions on Android, Mac OS and Kindle, we're introducing a truly cross-platform experience, allowing players to pick up where they left off on any device," said Ivan Fedyanin, Executive Director of Mobile Publishing, Nival. "We're focused on expanding our worldwide success to reach players on all platforms and in all countries, especially the loyal and demanding game audience in the United States."
Nival has been a global pioneer and innovator of strategy games such as Silent Storm, Blitzkrieg, Heroes of Might and Magic V, Etherlords, and Prime World, a multiplayer online battle arena game that is currently in Open Beta Testing in Russia. All Nival titles are complex games that are not complicated to play, with incredible visuals and intuitive mechanical controls. Part of Nival's team also developed the highly popular Allods Online, acquired by Mail.Ru in 2009.
According to data gathered from an October 2012 Flurry report, Nival gamers log in to play more than twice as often as other social gamers. Furthermore, the average social game is played in small, several-minute increments while Nival gamers play in nearly 25-minute increments, four times per day on average.
"Nival has a different approach to gaming," said Sergey Orlovskiy, CEO, Nival. "Players are used to social games in which leveling up means going from turnips to radishes. Our games are for the millions of people who are ready to step up to a 'mid-core' game -- a sort of bridge between hard-core gaming and the 99-cent game category -- enjoying all the new gameplay, stories, challenges and rewards that go along with a richer game experience."
Nival games such as King's Bounty: Legions and Prime World boast an impressive track record, garnering awards and accolades including:
- #1 top-ranked RPG in 17 countries
- Top-ten ranked overall game in seven countries, including the US
- IGN Best of E3 2011 Winner
- GamingXP Best of gamescom 2011 Winner
- Unity Awards Best Gameplay 2011 Nominee
- Computer Times Editor's Choice Winner
King's Bounty: Legions is now available for Android from Google Play, for iOS from the App Store and for Facebook from the Facebook App Center. The game will soon be available for Mac OS and Kindle Fire. Gameplay can be continued between multiple devices via Facebook Connect.
