2013 International CES eröffnet als Messe der Rekorde

Die 2013 International CES® öffnete heute ihre Tore und mit über 3.250 Ausstellern auf rund 176 Tsd. Quadratmetern Nettoausstellungsfläche bricht sie die Rekorde des Vorjahrs für Fläche und Ausstellerzahl. Innovation war das zentrale Thema der diesjährigen Pre-Show-Presseveranstaltungen, die mit der CES Unveiled am Sonntagabend ihren Auftakt nahmen. Dort präsentierten 74 Unternehmen ihre neuesten Technologien, und im Rahmen des CES Press Day führten fast 30 Aussteller neue Produkte ein. Die Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® besitzt und produziert die 2013 International CES, die weltweit größte jährliche Innovationsveranstaltung, die heute beginnt und bis zum Freitag, den 11. Januar in Las Vegas im US-Bundestaat Nevada läuft.

„In dieser Woche werden auf der 2013 International CES rund 20.000 neue Produkte eingeführt. So freuen wir uns sehr, den Startschuss zu dieser Messe zu geben, die alle Rekorde der Vergangenheit in den Schatten stellt,“ kommentierte Gary Shapiro, President und CEO der CEA. „Die CES ist ein unglaubliches Ereignis: Alle bedeutenden Technologieunternehmen aus aller Welt stellen auf der diesjährigen CES ihre Innovationen zur Schau.”

Der Chairman und Chief Executive Officer (CEO) von Qualcomm, Dr. Paul Jacobs, hielt am Montagabend die Pre-Show-Keynote und stellte in seiner Rede die Wurzeln des Unternehmens im Mobilgerätebereich heraus. „Wir sind im Kern der Mobilgeräte, die bei all Ihren Aktivitäten eine zentrale Stellung einnehmen“, so Jacobs. Während seiner Rede kam der Microsoft President und CEO Steve Ballmer auf die Bühne und führte Microsoft Windows-Produkte mit integriertem Qualcomm Snapdragon 10-Prozessor vor. Der Snapdragon 800 ist ein Spitzenprozessor für Tablets, Smartphones und vollausgestattete PCs und ermöglicht die effektive Nutzung von LTE, ultra HD und 7.1 Surround.

Der Veranstaltung wohnten etliche Stars bei und die Vorschauen von zwei Filmen, die bald ins Kino kommen, wurden erstmals gezeigt. Als Prominente hatten der Regisseur Guillermo del Toro, Brad Keselowski und Marc Jenkins von NASCAR, die Schauspielerin Alice Eve (Star Trek Into the Darkness ) und Scott Chambers sowie Bibo aus der Sesamstraße ihren Auftritt. Zum krönenden Abschluss der Veranstaltung spielten Adam Levine und zwei weitere Mitglieder der mehrfach mit Platin und dreimal mit einem Grammy Award ausgezeichneten Band Maroon 5.

Die Pre-CES-Presseveranstaltungen starteten am Sonntagabend mit CES Unveiled: der offiziellen Presseveranstaltung der CES. 74 Aussteller lösten einen Ansturm der Medien aus, der zu den größten in der Geschichte der Unveiled-Veranstaltung zählt. Unter den ausstellenden Unternehmen fanden sich 3M Touch Systems, Body Media, Canopy Co., Chevrolet, Fitbug, Goal Zero, HAPI Labs, House of Marley, Hz0, Liquid Image, Matrix Audio, Parrot, Synaptics und Urban Hello. Wichtige Trends waren u. a. ultra-HDTV, Hybrid-Tablets, flexible Touchscreen-Display-, Apps- und mobile Lösungen.

Weitere Produkte wurden am Montag, den 7. Januar auf dem CES Press Day bekannt gegeben. 28 Aussteller hielten dabei Pressekonferenzen ab, mehr als je zuvor bei einer solchen Veranstaltung in der Geschichte der Messe. Zu den angekündigten Produkten gehören:

  • LG – 55-Zoll OLED TV. Smart-kompatible Ultra HDTVs in drei Größen (84-, 65-, 55-Zoll)
  • Livio - FM Connect versetzt Personen, die im Auto UKW-Radio hören, in die Lage, über ein per Bluetooth verbundenes Smartphone mit den UKW-Sendern vom Bedienelement zu interagieren
  • Monster - neue Kopfhörerreihen und –designs, darunter die NCredible-Kopfhörer von Nick Cannon
  • Sharp - Ultra HD – 85-Zoll 8K Fernseher, der 16-mal die Auflösung von HDTV bietet
  • VOXX – NM100 Rückspiegel-Navigation
  • Fujifilm – Zwei neue Kameras der X-Serie: X100S und X20 mit einer Anlaufzeit von 0,5 Sekunden und einer Auslöseverzögerung von 0,1 Sekunden
  • Huawei – Ascend Mate-Smartphone mit 6,1-Zoll-Bildschirm – zurzeit das weltweit größte Smartphone
  • Intel – Perceptual Computing bringt mit Sprache, Berührung, Gesichtsausdruck und Gesten natürliche menschliche Interaktion in die Welt der Computer. Gesichtserkennung macht den Anwender zum Passwort
  • Limited Computing - VYZAR - auf dem geografischen Standort aufbauende, 3D-erweiterte Reality-Technologie
  • Samsung - Neuer Aushängeschild-Fernseher Smart TV Samsung LED F8000 (46-, 55-, 60-, 65- und 75-Zoll) mit Spracherkennungstechnologie
