SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- G.F.Bunting, a San Francisco-based strategic communications company, announced effective today the hiring of Aaron Curtiss, a veteran award-winning journalist and change management executive.
"We are thrilled to have yet another world-class journalist join our firm," said President Glenn F. Bunting. "Aaron is a strategic business thinker and gifted writer who has exceptional digital and social media skills. Most importantly, as anyone who has worked with Aaron knows, he is a great guy.''
At G.F. Bunting, Curtiss will specialize in developing immediate and long-term strategies in both traditional and digital spheres – including social media, reputation management, online forensics and developing platforms that allow clients to effectively tell their stories.
Curtiss spent nearly four years at Sitrick And Co., a Los Angeles PR firm, as a respected strategic communications executive who led the company's digital media practice. He worked at the Los Angeles Times for more than two decades as a beat reporter, editorial board member, advertising executive and Director of Innovation overseeing the news operation's strategic change initiatives. For eight years, he served as technology editor directing The Times' news coverage of Silicon Valley. As a reporter, he was a member of teams that won Pulitzer Prizes in 1992 and 1994.
A native Californian, Curtiss earned an MBA at UCLA and a BA in journalism at USC, where he taught writing and investigative reporting as a senior lecturer. Curtiss has a broad range of experience, from proxy fights to litigation support to reputation management. He also completed a professional certificate in land-use planning at UC Santa Barbara and is finishing UCLA's respected certified financial planning program.
"Having worked with Glenn at the L.A. Times and his partner, Dave Satterfield, I have a sense of G.F. Bunting's goals and culture,'' Curtiss said. "I am thrilled at this opportunity.''
Curtiss joins former LA Times colleague Ralph Frammolino, who was hired by G.F. Bunting in October and is based in Los Angeles. Curtiss will open a new G.F.Bunting office in Denver.
