San Francisco, CA, January 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- pixelhose.com announced the web site’s Second Writing Competition in two categories: Fiction and Nonfiction. The fiction category is intended as primarily a short story contest, although authors are encouraged to also submit one act plays, or other experimental compositions. The nonfiction category includes personal essays, memoires, sociopolitical opinions, and travel stories, not including reviews. All English language submissions, in any genre, are eligible. However, submissions with pornographic theme, hate speech, or those that may be classified as personal or institutional rants will not be considered.
There are three prizes in each category, $300, $150, and $50, for a total of $1000 in author prizes. The contest is fee to enter.
Previously published material are accepted as long as pixelhose.com can secure free, one site, one time, permanent web publication rights. Simultaneous submissions are permitted.
“We are excited about our second writing competition,” said Bob Dourandish, pixelhose.com publisher. “Our first contest was an absolute success and we were humbled by the quality and volume of submissions. More exciting news, however, was that the contest resulted in an anthology of short stories, titled 22 Naked Bodies Inside, now available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, and other booksellers,” he added.
All entries must be made via email. No physical submissions are accepted.
Deadline to enter is February 28, 2013. For complete details see pixelhose.com.
