TRIBUTE TO DR. STEVEN VLADEM:
Organ Transplant Pioneer Dr. Steven Vladem Honored on Genesis Global Radio
Genesis Global Radio will pay tribute to Dr. Steven Vladem for his devoted efforts in promoting global transplant awareness. A motivational speaker, executive producer and self-help author, Dr. Vladem died tragically this past September in a pedestrian accident. Though his passing was untimely, his legacy lives on. Dr. Vladem turned a devastating childhood illness into a lifelong quest to make transplant surgery available to all those who need it. His dream has been realized through the Dr. Steven Vladem Memorial Fund, dedicated to the support of transplant research and advocacy and the continued empowerment of disabled individuals worldwide.
After a severe allergic reaction damaged his eye, Dr. Vladem became a two-time cornea transplant recipient, an experience which awakened him to the limitations in transplant availability and the struggles faced by those who need them. His vision of bringing transplant awareness to the forefront of patient advocacy developed into a global motivational speaking campaign and led to the production of several documentary films. In recognition of his efforts, he has been honored with countless awards from prestigious organizations which include the Albert Schweitzer Institute, the London Diplomatic Academy and the International World Order of Science Education and Culture.
At the time of his death, Dr. Vladem was actively promoting the release of the film "Perogi Blues," which he produced along with documentary filmmaker Phil Ranstrom.
In a heart-warming reflection on Dr. Vladem, Christine Larkin, Executive Producer of Genesis Global Media, stated, "I had a brief professional relationship with Dr. Vladem and had the privilege of interviewing him on the radio several times. I am deeply saddened by his sudden and untimely passing. In spite of his many challenges, he remained enthusiastic and excited about the projects he was working on, and his main mission was always to help others. He left a legacy, and I will always remember him."
Please support transplant research and advocacy. Donations may be mailed to:
