PRINCETON, New Jersey, Dec. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As the number of English-language learners around the world grows at a significant pace, the TOEFL® program launches a new Facebook® page, www.facebook.com/TOEFL, to engage test takers worldwide and share timely information regarding the most widely accepted English-language assessment.

The TOEFL page, developed by ETS, the creator of the TOEFL test, provides a wide variety of test prep, study resources and sample test questions to assist students as they prepare for the assessment. The social networking platform also offers students a forum to connect and to communicate with other TOEFL test takers regarding study-abroad opportunities.
"The TOEFL page on Facebook transforms the way we can engage with test takers around the world," commented Pamela Treves, Director of the TOEFL Brand. "This communication channel allows us to share valuable information regarding the TOEFL test in a more efficient and interactive format. We hope English-language learners worldwide will join the conversation and take advantage of this free resource."
The page also includes a TOEFL Communities section providing direct links to additional TOEFL pages and other TOEFL social media sites relevant to particular geographic locations, such as China, India and the United States.
The launch of www.facebook.com/TOEFL is timely as the number of TOEFL test takers globally continues to skyrocket. The TOEFL Go Anywhere website (www.TOEFLGoAnywhere.org), another free resource for students, is updated with study tips, educational videos and access to registration to assist the growing numbers of TOEFL test takers. The website is available in English, Chinese and Korean.
Students are also encouraged to join the TOEFL mailing list, available at http://www.ets.org/toefl/student_news, to receive timely updates regarding the TOEFL test.
