SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirrored Media, the alternative recording label and experiential music marketing firm, announced today it has secured $500K in venture funding to support the company's rapid growth. The round was led by angel investor, Vaden Saunders, a serial entrepreneur who recently formed TV and film development company, Death by Development, LLC. In just one year of operation, Mirrored Media has experienced extraordinary growth and profitability. The company also announced the opening of a Seattle office and key new hires to bolster its executive team.
Mirrored Media shot onto the scene this past year with its highly visible lifestyle campaign between top car manufacturer Acura and fan favorite Indie band Metric. The project combined art, music and technology to simultaneously introduce Acura's new 2013 ILX and Metric's new album Synthetica.
"Today's funding news further validates our core business proposition of creating powerful, enduring partnerships that are mutually beneficial for the brands, bands, and fans," said Justin Lefkovitch, founder and chief executive officer, Mirrored Media. "In an age where consumers are bombarded with marketing messages and brands are intent on discovering the bulls eye target of reaching them, we have created the ideal solution."
Mirrored Media, founded by 25 year old Lefkovitch, creates high impact, enduring lifestyle campaigns that fuse together marquee bands with Fortune 500 brands. The company empowers artists with significant exposure and invaluable resources while allowing brands to reach their target market in a unique and organic way.
New executive hires include Brian Hirsh, Chief Creative Officer and Tobin Watkinson, Vice President of Music . Hirsh has worked in music and media marketing for over a decade and has extensive experience providing marketing solutions for some of the largest brands in the world. Previously, Hirsh served as president and founder of entertainment marketing agency, Retail Entertainment Design and most recently was part of the executive management team as SVP of Creative Services at PlayNetwork. Watkinson has held Artist Relations roles with companies such as MySpace Records, Atlantic Records, Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group and is also the co-founder of music startup Purevolume.com, a joint venture with Warner Music Group.
Mirrored Media has assembled a music and digital industry dream team, including board of advisors that range from Steve McBeth, former Disney executive and founding President of Disney Interactive; Steve Kofsky, of RCI Global LLC and business partner of world renowned academy and Grammy award winning film composer Hans Zimmer.
