WebMediaBrands Inc.'s (Nasdaq: WEBM) Inside Network, the leader in tracking application performance and market trends across social and mobile platforms, today announced the publication of the first report in its recently launched Social App Research Service (SOARS). SOARS monthly reports help companies capitalize on the growing social economy by providing insight into user and developer trends in specific app genres.
The report, "Facebook Games: Increasing Consumer Engagement," examines prospects for social games on the maturing Facebook canvas and successful strategies for increasing conversion rates and revenue. It concludes that developers must utilize more effective customer engagement and retention methods to increase users’ lifetime value. According to the report, 49% of Facebook gamers play at least every day and 31% play a few times per day.
"While many casual gamers are drifting from Facebook to mobile games, gamers play frequently on Facebook," said report author Billy Pidgeon, senior analyst for Inside Network. "Games that play well across Facebook and mobile platforms keep gamers connected for more value, and well-designed Facebook-only games can achieve higher conversion rates and revenue per paying user."
