ATLANTA, Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- InComm, a leading prepaid product and transaction services company, today announced its majority acquisition of Adility, Inc., a leading platform for online-to-offline commerce, with a network of more than 500 mobile applications and online publishers.

The Adility platform provides retailers and brands with mobile solutions for the activation of prepaid products in retail stores via their existing point-of-sale (POS) infrastructures. The platform also enables the distribution and management of digital promotions and single-use coupons. InComm's infrastructure and retail integration ensures these prepaid products and single-use coupons can be redeemed in stores through seamless POS transactions.
A recent Forrester Research report suggests that online coupons and promotion codes generate new users, increase overall spending and result in a completed sale for 88 percent of undecided shoppers. Forrester also estimates that more than 50 percent, or approximately $1.2 trillion, of retail sales will be web and mobile-influenced in 2012. Together, Adility and InComm will help retailers and brands use multiple touch points, whether online, mobile or offline, to generate increased sales at retail locations.
"This acquisition will allow InComm retailers to capitalize on the increasing share of web and mobile-influenced commerce," said Brooks Smith, president and CEO, InComm. "It demonstrates our commitment to expand distribution of digital promotions for our partners and complements InComm's world-class digital distribution capabilities that continue to transform the shopping experience."
"We created Adility, recognizing the tremendous impact online and mobile-influenced commerce has today on offline retailers and brands," said Thomas Cornelius, Adility founder and president. "InComm has one of the largest retail networks in the country, and a fantastic team with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to their retail partners. Through our retailer-specific platform, Adility provides the ability to expand in-store sales to a completely new category, offering targeted and measurable promotions that serve the interests of their specific customer base."
Cornelius will join InComm's executive team as president of Adility, and will focus on the convergence of online and offline sales, leveraging Adility's first-class platform and engineering team.
