SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - December 06, 2012) - John Demas, a Sacramento personal injury attorney with Demas Law Group, celebrates his 20
John Demas began practicing law in 1992 after his graduation from McGeorge Law School. Today, as he looks back over his career, Mr. Demas is proud to note that the desire to help others and protect the rights of victims that drew him into the practice of personal injury law in those early days has not changed.
Mr. Demas stated, "I am happy that I am able to help the people of Sacramento and the surrounding areas when they need legal representation. When I began practicing law, I wanted to help others; that desire has never changed."
Mr. Demas has certainly done his share for victims of personal injury in the Sacramento area. He was able to secure the largest single verdict in Tuolumne County history, as well as many other multi-million dollar verdicts for other clients. However, it is not the size of the settlement that drives Mr. Demas's desire to help victims.
"While it is always satisfying to win a record verdict or a multi-million dollar settlement for a client, there have been cases that were just as personally satisfying that only settled for a small amount of money. The important thing for me is to know that the victim received as much as possible for his or her injuries and was not taken advantage of by another party or an insurance company," Mr. Demas said.
Helping his area's people is not always about litigation, however. Demas Law Group has a strong commitment to giving and sharing through charitable organizations and groups. Each member of the Demas Law Group is encouraged to support local and national organizations that reflect the caring culture of the law firm. For example, some of Demas's employees, with Mr. Demas's full cooperation and support, began a team for the yearly "Walk Like MADD" competition to focus on putting an end to drunk driving. Mr. Demas has also given generously to local charities and groups and encourages his employees to do so as well by providing opportunities for them to work with the organizations of their choice. Demas Law Group also works through its Facebook page to sponsor various giving opportunities, such as donating money to groups based on the number of "likes" a post receives.
"It has been a wonderful and fulfilling 20 years of practicing law, and I hope to be working for another 20," Mr. Demas states. "The best days for me are the days when I can help others, even in a small way, by using my skills and knowledge to relieve suffering. At the end of each day, I want to know that I have helped someone else and protected the rights of those who might have no one to stand up for them."
