Lojas Renner audacious Marketing action results in giant Brazilian fan letter to Madonna

The promotion was made in Ipanema, the most famous Brazilian beach. Next step is preparing a big surprise as a "grandfinale" for the last concert in Brazil that will happen in Porto Alegre, this weekend

SAO PAULO, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to an innovative Marketing action Lojas Renner– a Brazilian corporation in fashion retail – was in charge of the world biggest fan letter ever written. The initiative – related to its sponsorship to Madonna's concert –took place last Sunday morning, before her performance in Rio de Janeiro, and showed all the devotion of the singer's lovers.

The one kilometre message, which came from a Facebook and Twitter promotion, was printed and put in line on the street (which is closed for traffic on Sundays) floor, along all the world famous Ipanema beach waterfront. The letter way has started in front of Fasano Hotel, where Madonna was hosted.

The pop diva– who was doing her best to hide from photographers before the concert – appeared quickly from upstairs to check the giant message out and, after, said: "That was the greatest action ever made by my fans". Later on, she invited to get her room Renner's Marketing manager, Luciane Franciscone, and they could talk about the action.

In order to let new comments on the printed flag, beach-goers around also received pens. Originally, fans wrote on the hashtag #cartamadonna (that means "letter to Madonna" in Portuguese). An aeroplane was flying around all the time with another flag with the hashtag's name printed and either the message: "haveyoueverseenabiggerfanletter?".

Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, came down to see the huge letter and, thus, could receive a red box with the sentence "Madonna, you've got a new message. Check it out!". An iPad, to make possible accessing the social media, was inside it. "I didn't just like the action, I love it. It is amazing," he said.

Today and tomorrow, Madonna will play in Sao Paulo. She is going to finish the Brazilian tour in Porto Alegre, next Sunday (9th). To run its promotional actions, Renner counts with the actuation of the agencies 3YZ and No Promocional.

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
The explosion of new web/cloud/IoT-based applications and the data they generate are transforming our world right before our eyes. In this rush to adopt these new technologies, organizations are often ignoring fundamental questions concerning who owns the data and failing to ask for permission to conduct invasive surveillance of their customers. Organizations that are not transparent about how their systems gather data telemetry without offering shared data ownership risk product rejection, regu...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.

Enterprises have taken advantage of IoT to achieve important revenue and cost advantages. What is less apparent is how incumbent enterprises operating at scale have, following success with IoT, built analytic, operations management and software development capabilities - ranging from autonomous vehicles to manageable robotics installations. They have embraced these capabilities as if they were Silicon Valley startups.
As IoT continues to increase momentum, so does the associated risk. Secure Device Lifecycle Management (DLM) is ranked as one of the most important technology areas of IoT. Driving this trend is the realization that secure support for IoT devices provides companies the ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, secure offerings faster, create new revenue streams, and reduce support costs, all while building a competitive advantage in their markets.
