NEW YORK, Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Concern Worldwide U.S. will recognize Mr. Page Thompson, CEO of Omnicom Media Group North America, at its annual Seeds of Hope Dinner on December 4th for his outstanding dedication to improving the lives of the world's poorest people.
"We are delighted to have this opportunity to formally honor Mr. Thompson for his unrelenting compassion and commitment to helping people impacted by war, famine, natural disaster, and extreme poverty," said Siobhan Walsh, Executive Director of Concern Worldwide U.S. "He continues to push us to be as effective and efficient as possible, even in the world's toughest environments. There is no doubt that Concern has successfully saved and transformed the lives of more people because of Page's constant support and leadership."
Thompson most recently helped expand Concern's online presence by organizing a volunteer effort with Omnicom Media Group agency, PHD, to develop, target, and roll out a digital campaign that will run through the holidays in support of the organization's Concern Gifts (gifts.concernusa.org), an online catalogue of items that can be purchased in support of Concern's programs across the globe.
A veteran of more than 30 years in the media agency business, Thompson has been widely recognized in the industry and was named Media Director of the Year, An Advertising Age Media Maven, and an Adweek Media Executive of the Year. As CEO, Thompson oversees all Omnicom media and analytics resources for the North America region. This includes media agencies OMD and OHD; digital and data analytics at Annalect Group; Optimum Sports Media and Marketing; search agency Resolution Media; and several other media specialty companies. He has served on the board of Concern Worldwide U.S. for five years.
The Seeds of Hope Award recognizes the best and brightest business leaders, innovators, and influencers who have demonstrated remarkable commitment to championing humanitarian work. Past honorees include: Vice-Chair of Market Development at KPMG, Rob Arning; Ambassador Richard Holbrooke; Carly Fiorina, former Chairman and CEO of HP; Craig Barrett, Chairman of INTEL; Joe Coppotelli of StructureTone; Joe Forehand, Accenture; James Press, Toyota; and Anne Mulcahy, Xerox.
This year, the event will take place on Tuesday, December 4th at The Hilton Hotel at 1335 Avenue of the Americas (54th Street) in New York City. Cocktail reception begins at 6:00 pm with dinner and program following at 7 pm.
