ANDOVER, Mass., Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications Company, has been selected as a 2012 District Administration Readers' Choice Top 100 Product winner for Enterasys IdentiFi. With more than 1,000 nominations this year, a new record, the winners were selected by the editors of District Administration and were based upon both the quantity of nominations and the quality of reader descriptions. The complete list of winners has been announced online and in the December issue of District Administration magazine.
Enterasys IdentiFi is a new Wi-Fi solution encompassing access points, controllers and management software for an integrated wired and wireless OneFabric Edge architecture. IdentiFi addresses all critical requirements for the education market, including scalability, visibility, security, and application performance. IdentiFi enables schools to manage and control the massive influx of wireless devices resulting from BYOD and 1:1 mobility initiatives. IdentiFi provides an exceptional Wi-Fi user experience in hyper-dense classroom and campus environments. Through seamless integration with IdentiFi, Enterasys is the first vendor to demonstrate advanced real-time analytics for integrated wired and wireless networks with its Mobile IAM solution.
"We are honored to have Enterasys IdentiFi honored as a District Administration Readers Choice Top 100 Product," said Vala Afshar, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Customer Officer, Enterasys. "At Enterasys, we are committed to our education market customers and strive to provide them with the tools and products they need to manage WiFi throughout their districts. The classroom is changing and becoming more digital. Enterasys ensures that their customers can change with the times and enable their districts with the solutions needed to manage the digital classroom."
"The technology has allowed us to enable BYOD for students and staff while ensuring the integrity of our network," said Philip Hicks, supervisor of infrastructure and operations, Thames Valley District School Board, Ontario. "BYOD has enhanced our students' competitiveness and enhances our curriculum."
The annual District Administration Readers' Choice Top 100 Products award recognizes leaders in the education industry, and provides superintendents and other senior school district leaders with the unique opportunity to learn what products their colleagues around the country are using, and how these products contribute to the success of their districts.
"The record number of nominations we received this year was astonishing," says District Administration's executive editor, Odvard Egil Dyrli. "There were so many excellent recommendations from school administrators who shared how the products made significant differences in their districts, and choosing the Top 100 proved to be challenging and difficult. We are delighted to announce the honorees for 2012 and trust that the list will be a valuable resource for our readers."
