SES BROADBAND SERVICES UND ESA FÖRDERN INNOVATIONEN BEI DER BREITBANDKOMMUNIKATION ÜBER SATELLIT

SES (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG) hat eine Vereinbarung mit der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation (ESA) unterzeichnet, um Innovationen bei der Breitbandkommunikation über Satellit zu fördern. Als Teil der Vereinbarung wird SES Broadband Services, eine hundertprozentige Tochter von SES, eine Reihe von Breitbanddiensten zu besonderen Konditionen für Unternehmen anbieten, die an den ARTES Applications Projekten unter Leitung der ESA teilnehmen.

Die von der ESA geleitete ARTES-Initiative (Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems) zielt darauf ab, die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der europäischen Industrie zu verbessern, indem die Satellitennutzung in Bereichen wie Rundfunk, Multimedia- und mobiler Kommunikation, Datenübertragung, Such- und Rettungsdienste sowie Luftverkehr gefördert wird.

Mit dieser Initiative regt SES Broadband Services Unternehmen an, neue Satelliten-Breitbandanwendungen und -dienstleistungen zu entwickeln. Firmen, die am ARTES Applications-Programm teilnehmen (ARTES 3-4 und ARTES 20), können von Vorzugspreisen für Dienste von SES Broadband Services profitieren. Dies erstreckt sich auf die Dienste über die Ausleuchtzonen des ASTRA-3B Satelliten auf der Orbitalposition 23,5 Grad Ost über ganz Europa und dem Nahen Osten sowie die -Ausleuchtzone des ASTRA-4A auf der Orbitalposition 5 Grad Ost für Afrika südlich der Sahara.

Die ESA entwickelt Raumfahrzeugträger, Satelliten und Bodenanlagen, um sicherzustellen, dass Europa bei Raumfahrtvorhaben weltweit an der Spitze bleibt.
