New app offers Canadians a never-before-seen mobile and tablet shopping experience
TORONTO, Nov. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Well.ca - Canada's largest health, beauty and baby store - is launching its new mobile app to show Canadians the next step in the evolution of e-commerce. Just in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the new app is packed full of features to make it easy and enjoyable for Canadians to buy the products they need for their homes.
"Our goal is to show Canadians what the future of shopping is going to look like and it is obvious that tablets and smartphones are going to play a big role," said Ali Asaria, founder and CEO of Well.ca. "Our mobile transactions have quadrupled in each of the last two years, making this the perfect time to introduce our iPhone and iPad app."
The mobile app is packed full of innovative features to create an online shopping experience like nothing consumers have ever seen before. Features like Well.ca's new barcode scanning enables consumers to walk through their home, scanning the products they buy frequently and have them added to their shopping basket on Well.ca.
"We're seeing most retail apps in Canada just being used for the store locator function which is surprisingly low tech," Asaria added. "With our new app we're providing a much more complete e-commerce experience. Your phone or tablet can easily replace your shopping list, shopping cart and save you a trip to the store."
Additionally, the new 'Cupboards' feature give consumers the option to create custom shopping lists for each area of their house and subscribe to products to ensure they never run out of staples like diapers, toothpaste or bathroom tissue.
The 'Cupboards' also have social sharing options allowing consumers to share their favourite products with their Facebook friends. Influential bloggers Erica Ehm and Michelle Villettt have already started using the feature.

The app is available for download in the iTunes store.
