OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/21/12 -- Giant Tiger President and Chief Operating Officer, Greg Farrell, will be presenting a $50,000 cheque to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation at their annual telethon on Thursday morning, November 22 at CTV studios in Ottawa. Being a long-time supporter of the ORCF, this will bring Giant Tiger's total to $450,000 in donations over the span of their relationship with the Foundation.

Thursday's donation will be directed specifically to support the Cancer Coaching Programs at the Maplesoft Center. Past donations have funded essential equipment such as a breast cancer sentinel node biopsy unit, a portable cardiac monitoring unit, cooking for cancer patients Eating Right Programs and diagnostic equipment at various hospitals assisted by the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
